The Lebanon School District is incredibly grateful to the United Way for its generous financial contribution in support of our Communities In Schools of Pennsylvania (CISPA) personnel.
CISPA plays a vital role in our school community, making a profound impact by providing essential resources and support to students and educators while fostering a safer, more inclusive learning environment.

Thanks to this generous contribution, CISPA helps bridge the gap for students facing challenges by connecting them with school-wide services, targeted programs, and community resources, as well as offering direct support to families.

We are fortunate to have CISPA personnel in four of our schools, and through the efforts of the United Way, we will be adding a fifth team member next school year.

CISPA enables us to better meet the needs of our most vulnerable and at-risk students, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. Our partnership with the United Way allows CISPA to expand its reach and create a lasting, positive impact on the lives of our students, helping them thrive.

I have been shopping at the Caring Cupboard for groceries for my aunt since Covid. I suggested she inquire about getting help from the Caring Cupboard when she shared with me that she was having difficulty paying her monthly bills and purchasing groceries and other essential needs.

My aunt entered the work force right after high school. She had to help support her family because her father, who was the primary source of income, had passed away at a young age. Then she chose to retire early to take care of her mom who developed Parkinson’s disease. Finances have always been a struggle for her. The Caring Cupboard has been helping my aunt have access to healthy foods and other items that she otherwise would not be able to afford.

I shop for my aunt because she has difficulty getting around because of her arthritis and other health issues. I love my weekly visits to the Caring Cupboard. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. It is obvious that the volunteers really care about the people in their community.

I always try to select fresh or canned fruit and vegetables, milk, cereal, bread and eggs. The small pack of meat is perfect for her to prepare in her air fryer. She loves when I’m able to get ice cream for her or another sweet treat.

The Caring Cupboard is a wonderful place where people who would otherwise struggle to find their next meal are able to have healthy, wholesome food. My aunt and her family are forever grateful.

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine conducts an employee campaign annually. The majority of contributions raised come from employee pledges and donations, but employees also enjoyed giving through some fun activities, such as a silent auction, a book sale, a wine tasting and concert event and food truck lunches at each Penn State Health hospital. Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees also participate in United Way Days of Caring and collect school supplies for local students.

“It’s heartwarming to see how our Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees give of themselves each year, both financially and through volunteer service, to support others in need in our communities. Participating with United Ways across our service area mean that more of our neighbors will receive access to health care, employment assistance, school readiness tools and assistance with basic health and human service needs.”

Our Downtown Location

At 604 Cumberland Street, we’ve created a centralized space where nonprofits can come together, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions for Lebanon County. The building includes a shared conference room designed specifically for community partners to meet, plan, and tackle challenges side by side.

This collaborative hub also houses several partner organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA, Girls on the Run, and VisionCorp, making it easier than ever to stay connected and work collectively for local families.

Our move downtown strengthens our commitment to keeping resources, relationships, and impact right here at home– because what’s raised here, stays here.
